Mary Agnes Rodriguez:
“The plants are connected with my mom’s garden. She grew Rosemary, she would say it was good to have rosemary. She would use it for cleansing, (limpias) or burn it as an incense, or use as an herb for flavor on food. Also, she had in her garden manzanilla that she used as a tea for calmness. She also had Sunflowers. She enjoyed the huge blooms of the Sunflowers. They look like the Sun against the blue sky plus they are seeds for the birds. Sunflowers also can take toxins out from contaminated soil.”
