Public painted mural pillar under I-35 at Quincy and St. Mary's in San Antonio, TX.

Organized by the San Antonio Street Initiative, this two-sided hand-painted mural pillar is a part of the Murals at Midtown. I chose to create portraits of two local women doing important work in the arts and activism. Poet and musician, Polly Anna Rocha is depicted as the Mujer de Transfeminisma and food justice activist, Ale Tierra as a Mujer de Maíz. They both refer to images of the Virgin de Guadalupe / Tonantzin, speaking to the need to care for our communities.
