Exposed explores ideas put forth in Carol J. Adams’ text, The Sexual Politics of Meat, taking intersectional feminism further to include the category of species. Using the simple palette invoking flesh and blood reminds us of the things we share with the rest of the animal kingdom. Through collage, I collect popular advertising in which women are animalized and animals are feminized. In critiquing this ongoing exploitation, I expose something that we see all of the time in a manner that gives space for reflection.
