“Holy Basil, Passion Flower, and Nag Champa bring me peace and comfort. I became conscious of this fact more than at any other time in my life at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and have turned to these plants for spiritual nourishment in the face of a heightened climate of anxiety ever since. As an extension of my plant-based diet, the supplemental medicinal properties I receive from these plantcestors keep me spiritually motivated and provide me a much-needed sense of homeostasis--enough to continue existing and resisting as a frontier-based Xicanx artist.”
